Regular income

There is currently an urgent need to increase the regular giving. This is the result of the fantastic growth of the whole project over recent years, the fact that the current recession has had an inevitable impact, and also to cover the payment of a very basic monthly salary to the staff of Bushfire, who until now have been working for subsistence.

There are always additional capital needs, from new buildings, to equipment for the schools, to transport, to generators, to medical equipment - if you would be up for taking on the fundraising for something specific, then please contact Charlie or Juliet Simpson, Philip Whalley or Richard Garnett at info@bushfirefamily.org.uk

To give you a flavour of Bushfire's long term ambition, the next major challenge is going to be a Bushfire Secondary School. This is a potentially huge project, but one which Sam and his advisors believe could be vital for Bushfire. Currently when the children emerge from the Primary school, a significant number will go on to Secondary, where they have to board. It's expensive and sometimes the kids fall into the kind of company that can set back a lot of the hard work already done at Bushfire.

However there are unlikely to be enough Bushfire kids on their own to justify building a Bushfire Secondary school. So the plan is to build a Bushfire Secondary school which would itself take boarders. The school would be able to charge fees for non Bushfire kids, which would of course generate income, making a contribution to the ultimate vision of Bushfire becoming self sustaining.
