Our goal is to fund £15.00 per child per month - this being our estimate of what it would cost to keep a child fed, and clothed, with a bit left over for medicine and basic educational materials.

Regular donors give into a pot, rather than sponsoring children individually. With the size of the home being fairly small, we felt that it might cause difficulties if one sponsor was clearly more involved with 'their' child than another.

In 2006 Sam told us that he wanted to expand the Home, believing that about 90 children was the optimal number. So an additional 30 children joined Bushfire later that year. Whilst the initial day-to-day fundraising went well, during 2008, the recession took its toll, and our regular giving shrank by over 25 %.

We are obviously very keen to restore the situation, and would love to hear from anyone interested in setting up a monthly gift to support the kids with their most basic needs. Currently we have supporters who give anything from £15.00 - £200.00 per month.
